Tiomnadh Nuadh agus Sailm Dhaibhidh As long ago as 1767 the New Testament was published in Scottish Gaelic; it was joined by the Old Testament in 1801.

1992 saw publication of a fresh edition of the accepted Gaelic text in the current spelling as used in education (see Now the Scottish Bible Society has issued a bilingual edition of the New Testament offering the 1992 Gaelic text alongside the English text of the New King James version. Like previous bilingual editions, this is popular with Gaelic learners as well as native speakers.
